An IITian who got into Google

What’s so special about this – aren’t there are many such students who pass out from various IITs and joining big companies like Google? This 21-year-old, Naga Naresh Karutura from Teeparru, in Andhra Pradesh is special. He has no legs, and moves around in his powered wheel chair.

Born to parents who did not go to school but instilled in their son the importance of studying, Nagesh went to a village school. In 1993 he suffered an accident in which both his legs were amputated up to his hip. His parents were poor, but they didn’t give up on him. Moving to a town, he joined a missionary school from where he completed his tenth standard.

He later joined IIT-Madras to study Computer Science. Even went to Boston along with four others for his internship. He graduated in 2008 and is now with Google’s R&D.

This ever smiling, optimistic youngster moving considers himself extremely lucky and says that if you are motivated and show some initiative, people around you will always help you.
